Founded Wilson Dezine to showcase her ART & Design. My collection of Ocean Color Prints and Succulent Color Prints are true to my unique vision of Art in nature, and to bring awareness of our surroundings. Your eye is drawn to the explosion of color on the page. The movement, and the fragility of the underwater creatures, the succulents, tropical plant life, and the birds are only enhanced by the detail, that makes them come alive. The passion of the work makes it impossible not to feel closer to nature.
Having expressed my artistic skills as a child, I eventually studied at the San Francisco Academy of Art. I have explored the World working for an International Airline. This experience gave me the opportunity to see different cultures, customs, and the wonderful museums that house the most exquisite art.
When you travel, you notice how different cultures dress, how the design of the fabric is enhanced with color. It is something we understand without the use of an interpreter. I wanted my designs to be part of a new way of dressing.
So, I came up with the Barefoot Girl sarong line, a fun and colorful addition to beach & resort wear. This reflects my time in Hawaii, and travels to Tahiti, and Myanmar. The fabric is part of daily attire in certain parts of the world, but easily incorporated to accessorize your favorite outfit. I have designed it to be worn on any body type.
My statement about Barefoot Girl is, “ On the Beach, by the pool, over a white flowing dress or around your shoulders. Be closer to the Ocean, and let the fabric dance around you,” It’s an Art to wear.
Still a California girl, I have been sought out by Designers to bring my colorful Cali look to fabrics for custom home interiors. I am now presenting a collection to be used for upholstering furniture, pillows, and tablecloths.
The process I go thru to produce my art is to observe and research. When I study plant life I either grow it myself, then sketch it, and photograph it. I let my imagination take over to translate the image, and how I see it. I have the ability to print my own art, and I enjoy doing this on fine art paper.
